Haircut 4 is a new edition of “Haircut Triptych,” a painting series hanging in Benjamin Franklin College at Yale University. When hair is cut, because of a late-night crisis or an expensive appointment scheduled four months out, it (almost) always comes back. It is simultaneously precious and expendable. It is impulsive and patient. A haircut is a decision. Bad haircuts happen alone. Good haircuts happen together.
